Easter Tour 2011 – North York Moors

Thursday 21st April – Monday 25th April 2011
An early Spring four day tour in the North Yorks Moors, from the rolling hills and dales to the rugged Yorkshire coast, starting and finishing in historic York. Ruined abbeys, stately homes, and old fishing villages, with some off road and a few steep climbs. A 'two star' paced tour for low gears using youth hostels.
Thursday 21st
Own travel to York, staying at York YH.
Friday 22nd
Across the vale and into the dales and hills of Herriot country, staying at Osmotherley YH.
Saturday 23rd
From Roseberry Topping down the Esk to the coast at Whitby, where 199 steps separate Captain Cook from Dracula, staying at Whitby YH.
Sunday 24th
Off road to smugglers' and artists' haunts, then over the moors and through the forests to Helmsley YH.
Monday 5th
A chance to revisit Brideshead and the end of the ice age before returning by train from York.
Option to ride out and back to London.
